Le Rocks turned its first rock in 1996 under the guidance of founder Tony Akkari. The company is a family business that also includes Tony's son Steve and his daughter Carine.
Tony, born in Lebanon and raised in Australia, earned his stripes in the construction industry while working on some monumental projects in the Gulf in the Middle East.
Tony learned from that invaluable experience, and Le Rocks quickly became known for its hard working ethic, especially in the area of excavation, landfill, concreting and rock supplies.
The burgeoning business has expanded in recent years to civil and major construction, particularly in the thoroughbred racing industry where it has undertaken major works for the Gold Coast-based Magic Millions Sales Pty Ltd, part-owned by Gerry Harvey and John Singleton, and the Queensland Turf Club, at their Brisbane headquarters, the Eagle Farm racecourse.
The Akkari family has a long history in the marble and sandstone business that began under the guidance of Tony's father Edmond Akkari in Lebanon before the family moved to Australia.
Tony has rekindled his expertise in this area, branching Le Rocks into a major Marble and Sandstone division in Brisbane that is sourcing the best quality product from all over the world.
Our marble and sandstone is aimed at all sections of the building industry; major construction companies, builders, kitchen designers, interior and exterior designers and niche boutique suppliers.
